ACTIVITIES
• Editor-In-Chief, The Shield - National award-winning publication: Garnered 1st Place Newspaper at National Scholastic Press Association. Wrote and edited news articles and photographed local, state, and national current events. Maintained smooth transition under new director, lead training for a staff of 40+, updated website design. During my time as Editor we returned to being a multilingual newspaper, which now includes Spanish and Farsi, and I penned the first ever article in both French and English. I revived our podcast, and recorded its first interview since the pandemic. The Shield is currently a 2026 CSPA Crown Finalist for Best High School Hybrid News, their highest honor. This is a timed two-hour expository essay contest that calls upon knowledge of history, literature, and current events. I wrote about importance of the arts as a defense of democracy.
